Passenger Information Systems
Description:
S-Tech have worked together with system integrators to install a number of real time passenger information display systems (PIDS) and on-board bus displays throughout Melbourne, Australia and Auckland, New Zealand.

Melbourne Smart Bus Network:
S-Tech have been contracted by Sigtec for the full implementation of the Melbourne Smartbus network for both on-board bus displays and bus stop displays, and with more than 100 displays already installed.
With the Screentech system the passenger has up-to-date information of the arrival time, destination and waiting time of the next bus.
Auckland City Bus Network:
S-Tech have been contracted by SAAB-ITS to supply LED signs and software for a “Real time Passenger Information System” in New Zealand for Auckland City Council.
The system uses GPRS and GPS to send passenger information and bus position on the route. Intergration with the Traffic Management System changes traffic lights to give the buses priority when requested.
Screentech has been an integral partner in the “Design and Functionality of the LED signage and Software.
The use of a Linux operating system for the signs, allows for the future expansion of the system as required.
